Canon Pixma MP486 Driver
Canon Pixma MP486 Printer Driver Download. The Pixma MP486 is one of Canon's latest entry-level multifunction devices and features a glossy black surface that gives the printer a professional look. The case retains its rounded corners and small footprint thanks to dimensions of 45.7 x 33 x 15.2 centimeters, but Canon has left the classic, more expensive LC display of its predecessors. Instead, there is a control panel with typical printing features such as start, stop, color or black and white printing, switching between normal and photo paper in different sizes, and a power button. There is a special scan button but no custom button for copying. The lack of a LC display can be annoying when one is used to making multiple copies and making various adjustments. It would be desirable to have a key that can be used to program preferred presets. Photographers who enjoy taking snapshots will miss the memory card reader, a feature included as standard in most entry-level models already tested.

The Canon Pixma MP486 paper is fed or ejected through two opposite paper trays: The paper feeder is folded out at the top of the machine and can hold up to 150 sheets in A4 paper format; The bottom of the output tray can hold only 50 sheets of paper, but it can be folded into the machine to save space when not in use. The Canon Pixma MP486 scanner lid opens over a narrow plastic arm, revealing a small compartment for the two ink cartridges below: a tri-color cartridge and a black pigment ink cartridge. Unfortunately, the low purchase price for the printer is offset by the higher cost of the ink cartridges. The Canon Pixma MP486 cartridges must be replaced more frequently than the cartridges for higher-priced printers with five or even six different color cartridges.

The Canon sells cartridges for the MP486 with different range. The page prices for standard cartridges are 7 cents for the black-and-white page and 9 cents for the color page. Canon Pixma MP486 can save your money, if one resorts to the cartridges with larger capacity. Here the costs are then 5 or 7 cents per page without paper costs. The first feature is the more exciting: Autoscan automatically detects which type of document is on the scan surface. Differences are, for example, images of magazines, in text documents from newspapers, and also the size is taken into account. Depending on the type of template, the Pixma MP486 printer decides whether to output the scan in a PDF or JEPG file. The other auto function on the other hand is to help with the correction of the images before printing. She also independently recognizes whether it is a portrait or landscape shot and then, depending on the case, supports the user in correcting the color or the contrast. Basic corrections such as skin tone change or red-eye function are of course also possible.
